Solar Art installed anti-graffiti film at a shopping center in Chula Vista, California! We are lucky enough to have a great relationship with a local real estate company in San Diego that we do a lot of work with. The real estate company has several shopping centers that they install anti-graffiti film on the glass to protect them against vandalism like graffiti, etching, and scratching. This installation was at one of their shopping centers that we have already installed anti-graffiti film at. The glass got tagged and they needed Solar Art to go onsite and remove the tagged window film and replace it with a fresh new layer as quickly as possible, and that’s what we did! Keep on reading to learn the specific details of the project as well as the different benefits anti-graffiti film offers!
Solar Art’s goals for this project were simple: remove the damaged anti-graffiti film and replace it with a new layer. To do that, our sales representative met a representative from the real estate company at the shopping center to take a look at the damage. While onsite, our representative took exact measurements of the panes that were vandalized so we could get the customer an accurate quote of what it will cost to remove the damaged window film and replace it with a fresh layer.
The customer decided that he wanted to replace the damaged anti-graffiti film with the same film, which is 3M anti-graffiti film. Anti-graffiti film is thicker than standard window film, which is why it’s able to take on the wrath of damage and vandalism. The sole purpose of anti-graffiti film is to protect glass from different types of damage like graffiti, etching, scratching, and more. If your space does get tagged as this location did, the anti-graffiti film can easily be removed with no damage to the glass and replaced with a new layer. Anti-graffiti film is optically clear so no one walking by will even notice it’s there and you won’t lose view out of the glass whatsoever. Anti-graffiti film can be applied to different glass and stainless steel surfaces. Solar Art frequently sees anti-graffiti film applied to storefront glass, elevators, escalators, display cases, and more. It is the perfect application for those high trafficked areas where vandalism, as well as wear and tear, is expected. If your glass does get damaged and you don’t have anti-graffiti film installed, it is very costly to fix it. Anti-graffiti film is a fraction of the cost of replacing the glass itself, which is a major draw to business owners installing it.
This was a big installation as a lot of the glass was tagged. This installation ended up being 1,555 square feet of removal and 1,603 square feet of installation! It took a team of two installers three full days to complete. The customer was very pleased with the outcome of the installation because we were able to accommodate his schedule and get our crew out there ASAP to fix the damaged window film. Having vandalized windows is not sightly and can turn off potential customers, so we wanted to be sure to get out to the job site as soon as we could! In addition to anti-graffiti film, Solar Art also services solar film, decorative window film, custom graphics, window security film, and exterior building wraps throughout the entire West Coast.
