Solar Art installed anti-graffiti film to a building that is under construction in Oakland, California! The building was undergoing several renovations and in that, the real estate company wanted to address the issue of graffiti and vandalism. The building is on a high trafficked corner in Oakland that is no stranger to graffiti. The real estate company was looking for a solution that would protect the glass so it wouldn’t have to be replaced if it did get tagged or damaged. Solar Art has done work with the real estate company in the past, so they decided to reach out and see if we could help them with their graffiti issues!
Solar Art’s goals for this project were to meet with the real estate company and educate them on their anti-graffiti film options for the building. Our top priority was to help them find a window film that meets their needs and accomplishes their goals, so that’s what we set out to do! Our sales representative out of our San Francisco office met with the real estate company at the building to get exact measurements of the glass and to talk about the different options the customer has.
After taking a look at the glass, our sales representative suggested 3M graffiti window film. He suggested 3M anti graffiti film, because it will protect the glass from vandalism such as graffiti, vandalism, etching, scratching, and more. It is an optically clear anti-graffiti film so people walking by won’t even be able to tell it’s there, and the overall aesthetics of the building aren’t going to change.
After meeting with our sales representative and hearing the different anti-graffiti options they have, the customer decided to take his suggestion and go with the 3M anti-graffiti film. He chose this option because it checked off all the boxes he was looking for. Anti-graffiti film is installed directly onto the glass surface itself and protects your glass as soon as it’s installed. Anti-graffiti film is thicker than standard window film, which means it is harder to get through. If someone does vandalize the glass, the window film is what gets the wrath of the damage, not your windows.
The customer decided to install anti-graffiti film to all of the front and side windows that are facing streets as well as the lobby. This installation ended up being 3,399 square feet of anti-graffiti film and took seven days to complete. Since the building was getting completely renovated, we had to wait to do the anti-graffiti film installation until the very end of the construction. We have to do window film installations at the end of construction so dirt doesn’t get under the film and ruin it. Overall, this installation went very smoothly and we were able to help the customer find a window film solution for their graffiti problem. In addition to anti-graffiti film, Solar Art also services solar film, decorative window film, custom graphics, window security film, and exterior building wraps.
